One of the greatest blessings of our lives has been working with Shared Beat, an organization that provides medical care for children of families who eke out a living in the Guatemala City Dump and children of very rural communities who lack health care. Additionally, we help to provide literacy education for women, and scholarships for students who wish to pursue careers in the health professions. We have four students in medical school currently!
Working as a volunteer pediatrician with Shared Beat has taught us a great deal about resiliency in the face of the largest challenges in life. We have all received back more than we have given.
Just a small donation will go a long way in helping me meet my goal, and moreover, helping these children and families.
